Enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of Saint Paul, one of Northwest Arkansas’ older towns. Saint Paul was founded in 1887 when the Frisco Railroad extended their line from Fayetteville southeast along the White River Valley to service the booming timber trade. Early in the 20th century St. Paul had grown to over 2000 residents with hotels, restaurants, stores and prosperity. Trains ran to and from Fayetteville daily. Later the timber ran out and the “Depression” forced the railroad to close the line; many residents headed for California. Today about 180 of us enjoy the peace and quiet, and the clean mountain air, of Saint Paul on a daily basis.
Saint Paul is conveniently located to serve as home base for access to many Ozark attractions. Hundreds of miles of country roads provide fine touring for both autos and “Bikes”. Forest Service, designated ATV trails are close at hand for “four-wheelers”. Canoeing? Take your pick. The headwaters of the Mulberry, the White, the War Eagle, and the Kingsrivers are nearby. Or, put in on the BuffaloNationalRiver at Ponca in less than an hour. Hiking is available outside the back door and on the many miles of the Highlands Trail which stretch across the National Forest.
